Yuma Turns 100 Years Old


2014 marks a milestone for the city of Yuma. The city will observe the centennial with a week long list of events on April 7th through the 12th. Plans were announced on Monday which will include events each day. The Yuma Sun reports that two new signs will be installed and lit on each end of Main Street in downtown Yuma and a time capsule will be buried and reopened in April 2114. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer will be in attendance and a fireworks celebration is also scheduled for that week.
