Yuma Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Fight Earlier This Month

Ben-CastroThe Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says three persons are in custody in connection with a fight at an area levee earlier this month.  Police also say they are seeking two persons of interest in the case. 

Those arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a location in the 900 block of West Solona Drive Wednesday morning include 21-year-old Benjamin Castro of Yuma and 24-year-old Sergio Castro also of Yuma.  Police say 21-year-old Iris Silva was arrested as well. 

The trio face charges following a fight at a leeve along Avenue Four-and-a-half-E on June 9th in which a shotgun was involved.  Serigo Castro and Silva face charges of Hindering Apprehension and Benjamin Castro faces charges of Second Degree Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault. 

Meantime, police continue to search for two persons of interest.  26-year-old Matthew Jimenez, also known as Sapo.  He is described as a Hispanic male, standing 5’6” tall and weighing 150-pounds with brown hair and eyes.  Also, police are seeking 25-year-old Jesse Ramirez.  He is described as a Hispanic male, standing 6’ tall and weighing 180-pounds with brown hair and eyes.
