Yuma Employees Presented With “Take Pride” Awards

City of Yuma employees were recognized for providing exemplary customer service, excellence in the workplace, outstanding leadership, exceptional teamwork and above-the-call community involvement during the City’s first Take Pride awards, held Wednesday, August 28th, in the morning in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

Created as a both a bonus program and a way to enhance employee recognition efforts by honoring extra effort such as outside volunteer work, the Take Pride program replaces previous City awards such as Circle of Excellence and Employee of the Quarter.

The winners included a team of City employees who constructed a wheelchair ramp for a disabled person on their own time, in a home that otherwise could not afford it. Those employees are Juan Roman, Steve Rico,
Juan Mireles, Joe Aleman, Sergio Ambriz and Martin Agundez.

The City’s Animal Control Services Unit was honored.  AndMartha Guzman, Public Affairs Coordinator who was the project leader on the curbside recycling awareness and Back to School Rodeo was honored as well.
