Yuma County Ranks Highest In Arizona For Food Insecurity

Yuma-Community-Food-BankA recent report from the Yuma Sun over the weekend shows that Yuma County ranks the highest for food insecurity in Arizona – with more than 56,000 persons at risk for hunger – or just over 27 percent of the county’s population.  The data comes from the 2010 Census.

President and CEO of the Yuma Community Food Bank Mike Ivers says the number of children who have a chance to go to bed hungry in Yuma and La Paz Counties is staggering.

The food bank says they are serving about 2,600 people a month currently.
