Downtown Yuma will continue to see improvements in the next few months. The Yuma City Council on Wednesday heard updates concerning the construction of an upscale apartment complex. Officials say construction could begin later this year. This would be the second phase of the downtown redevelopment that was first adopted in 2004. The Yuma Sun is reporting that the director of the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area Charles Flynn says now that the first phase is completed, the second phase, to introduce residential areas to the downtown and waterfront areas are next.
