The Yuma City Council is concerned about the number of vacancies that are on the various city boards – 15 altogether – there may not be enough with experience to take over those positions. The Yuma Sun is reporting that during both the work session on Tuesday and the council meeting on Wednesday, the issue came up. Mayor Alan Kreiger questioned the functioning of some of the groups and suggested that some of those may be dissolved. The council and Kreiger decided it would be best if those vacancies would be announced ahead of time. The discussion will be explored further after the new mayor takes over in January, 2014 as the discussion was tabled until that time.
