Yuma Border Patrol Seize $236K Worth Or Marijuana; Arrest Seven Men In Three Separate Incidents

United States Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector seized $236,000 worth of marijuana and arrested seven men in three separate incidents Tuesday near Wellton.
Agents patrolling in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge apprehended four Mexican nationals who had entered the U.S. illegally and were walking north near the Camino Del Diablo. Agents then back-tracked the group’s footprints and found four bundles of marijuana. The marijuana had a combined weight of 197 pounds, worth an estimated $98,000. The men and marijuana were turned over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force.
In another incident, agents on patrol in the same area arrested three Mexican nationals who had also illegally entered the country and were in possession of two backpacks of marijuana. The marijuana had a combined weight of 115 pounds and was valued at 57-thousand-dollars. The three men and marijuana were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
In a third incident, agents patrolling near Ajo seized four bundles of abandoned marijuana – with a combined weight of 161 pounds – worth an estimated $80,000.
