Some of the construction will involve demolition and moving around certain departments and will also affect parking and how the public will enter the building.
The Vice President of Marketing and Communications Machele Headington says that during and after construction, the work is being done to keep the most important part of their hospital important – the people who use Yuma Regional Medical Center.
The new Emergency Department is expected to be completed by 2016 and should keep YRMC on the cutting edge of medical technology for the next 50 years.
The cost of all the projects is estimated at over $160-million. You can get updated news and diagrams with status updates online at www.yumaregional.org.
