YCAT Employees Threaten Strike

YCAT32 bus drivers and mechanics who work for the company that provides transportation needs for the Yuma County Area Transportation bus service say unless they get a pay raise, they will walk off the job Thursday morning.

The bus driver’s union is demanding a 43-cent an hour raise, better health benefits and a guaranteed 40-hour work week.

In case of a strike, the Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority would provide free bus rides if the workers do indeed walk the picket line.

YCAT would continue to run routes Mondays through Fridays in the morning and afternoon hours, with the exception of 11:30am to 12:30pm.
