The Yuma Police Department says 24-year-old Brandi Michalski of Yuma was arrested on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in the murder of Christal Figueroa. Police say the two were friends until recently.
Michalski was originally arrested for misconduct with weapons on Friday in reference to a hit-and-run on South Madison Avenue that led to the lockdown of three nearby schools. She was one of the subjects who fled from the vehicle after the accident. Michalski was released from jail without any charges in connection with the hit-and-run incident.
Police say they found evidence near the murder scene south of Yuma and inside a vehicle that linked her to the murder.
Police say they are also continuing to look for three other men in reference to the murder. They include Jose Jimenez, also known as Rascal, Iovanny Alegre, also known as Casper and Daniel Torres, also known as Looney.
