Trial Date Set For Sen. Shooter

Don-ShooterA trial date has been set for Senator Don Shooter of Yuma.  The Yuma Sun and KYMA-TV are both reporting the date is September 24th

Shooter was formally charged last week with three misdemeanor counts in connection with a visit he made to his grandson’s charter school in March.  Those charges include Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct and Interference with or Disruption of an Educational Institution.

He wanted to speak with a teacher when he went to the Educational Opportunity Center, where he says his grandson was being called names and was unhappy with the treatment he received.  The September trial date may change and it is still unclear whether or not the case will go to trial.
