Talks Continue Between Bus Workers’ Union And Transportation Officials

YCATTalks are expected to resume later today between the local bus workers’ union and Yuma County Area Transportation officials.

Talks broke off Tuesday night after making some progress.  Talks however, stall on one point.  Bus drivers want a guaranteed five-day, 40-hour work week.  Workers also want better health insurance and a pay raise.

In case of a strike, the Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority would provide free bus rides if the workers do indeed walk the picket line.

Y-CAT would continue to run routes Mondays through Fridays in the morning and afternoon hours, with the exception of 11:30am to 12:30pm.
