Suspect From Last Week’s Police Standoff Makes Court Appearance

Gavel-Court-LawA man who held off police during an over three-hour standoff last week appeared in court and faces six felony charges.

37-year-old Jacson Williams of Yuma is charged with three counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of kidnapping.

Williams barricaded himself in a residence on South Eleventh Avenue after the Yuma Police Department responded originally to deal with a domestic situation.  He held police at bay by not coming out of the residence.

He finally gave up after being told by police that they would send in their canine unit and the dogs would find him and bite him.

Williams remains in custody on a $500,000 bond.
