Supreme Court Asked To Set Execution Dates For Two Arizona Inmates

Schad-JonesThe Arizona Supreme Court has been asked to set execution dates for death row inmates Edward Schad and Robert Glen Jones.

The Arizona Republic says the state Attorney General's Office petitioned the high court on Tuesday.  Schad was scheduled to be executed in March, but was granted a last-minute stay by the U.S. Supreme Court to review legal issues.  That stay was lifted Monday.

The 70-year-old Schad was sentenced to death for the 1978 murder of a Bisbee man while the 43-year-old Jones killed six people during two armed robberies in Tucson in 1996.
