State Senator Leah Landrum Taylor Drops Her Bid For Democratic Party Nomination For Secretary Of State

State Senator Leah Landrum Taylor is dropping her bid for the Democratic party nomination for Secretary of State. Landrum Taylor formally announced she was running in December but dropped out Monday. She said she instead wants to focus on reforming the state's child welfare system. Landrum Taylor was the minority leader in the Senate before being ousted by fellow Democrats in favor of Senator Anna Tovar in October.

The announcement comes just days after former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard said he would run for the office.
