The Yuma Police Department is asking the prosecutor to file four misdemeanor charges against the Republican for a March 22nd incident at the grandson's charter high school. They are asking that Shooter be charged with assault, interference or disruption of an educational institution, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The senator never touched the teacher or any students. Police say the assault charge was requested because the teacher was fearful when Shooter went to the school – claiming he was upset with the way his grandson was being treated at the school.
Shooter told the Associated Press Tuesday his lawyer is trying to resolve the case.
