Public Transit Considering Taxes To Raise Funding

YCATThe Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority is considering a tax.  The authority, which operates Yuma County Area Transit, is looking for a one-tenth of a percent tax.

The Yuma Sun reports today that transit funding has been significantly reduced several times, dating back to 2002.

Due to fluctuations in funding, bus services may see radical changes from year to year.

Also, in the past, funding for Y-CAT has been dependent on matching funding from local, state and federal funds.
