Property Tax Increases In Yuma

A property tax increase was given the green light by the Yuma County Board of Supervisors on Monday. The tax rate will now be just over two cents per one thousand dollars of property value owned. The Yuma Sun says the increase counteracts a decrease in assessed property valuation, enabling the county to still raise the same amount of money. With the addition of new construction, the county estimates the total levy for 2014 to be $22.9 million.
