Sunday is Parents’ Day, and a time for a reality check for childless Arizona couples seeking to adopt or explore fertility treatments, according to Carolyn Berger. She is an adoption coordinator with the American Fertility Association, and knows the ins and outs of both adoption and fertility treatment.
Adoptions can run from $30,000 to $50,000. Fertility treatments range from hundreds of dollars to thousands for multiple treatments, although some Arizona clinics offer services on a sliding-fee scale and insurance may cover part of the expense.
Berger has two children of her own, one through adoption and one with fertility clinic help.
