Pair Arrested On Drug Charges

Adamson-CarpenterTwo traffic stops led the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force to a residence at 1119-and-a-half South Ninth Avenue where sales of narcotics were taking place.  

During the first stop of a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Albert James Adamson, the Task Force seized approximately two ounces of marijuana with an approximate street value of $200 and drug paraphernalia.

A second vehicle driven by 46-year-old Karen Carpenter, was stopped and the Task Force seized approximately one ounce of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $2,400, drug paraphernalia and over $700.  A search warrant of the residence, where Adamson and Carpenter resided, led to additional paraphernalia being seized.

Adamson was arrested and booked for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and tampering with evidence.  

Carpenter was arrested and booked for possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
