It was the final regular Yuma City Council meeting Wednesday for Mayor Alan Kreiger and council members Paul Johnson, Bobbie Lewis and Jerry Stuart and it ended up being a longer meeting than anticipated. A public hearing was held that lasted for about 90 minutes. The Yuma Sun says some 27 persons signed up to complain about a rezoning issue involving changing an agricultural zone east of Avenue “D”. The developer of the property wants to make it a low density residential area. The request was defeated by a three-to-three tie vote. After the meeting, Mayor Kreiger reflected on his past years serving in office.
