United States Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector seized a combined 462 pounds of marijuana over the weekend. The total value of the drugs is estimated at $231,000. Saturday, August 10, an agent from the Wellton Station followed footprints near Sentinel made by a group of smugglers apprehended the day before. After following the prints for about a mile, the agent discovered several abandoned bundles of marijuana. The smugglers had used a common route that transverses the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge. The narcotic was seized for destruction.
