Locally Grown Food Celebrated This Weekend At Lettuce Days

Yuma-Lettuce-DaysYuma’s Lettuce Days kicks off Saturday with a huge weekend event at the Quartermaster’s Depot.  The festival combines locally grown ingredients, interactive displays and programs, exhibitors and vendors, and Yuma culture into a sophisticated, educational and entertaining weekend event.

Visitors have the opportunity to sample a variety of locally grown freshly made food and beverages in an outdoor setting over the weekend.

Chef Ben Ford, son of actor Harrison Ford, will be in attendance.  As a chef and restaurateur, Ford is known not only for his creative techniques, but for celebrating the cycle of life and freshness of the earth through his choice and treatment of ingredients.  He will be conducting live cooking demonstrations.

Also, radio personalities Bob and Sheri, who provides our morning show on our sister station Star 100.9, KQSR, will be here.  They will participate in tasting and recipe judging and give fans an opportunity to "meet and greet" the duo.
