An independent team created by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to oversee more than 6500 ignored child abuse and neglect reports says they have assigned more than 1200 of those cases to social workers. The so called CARE team also announced Wednesday that they have verified that more than 550 reports from the past four years have now received responses. Nearly 200 children have been visited by police or social workers. Wednesday's report comes as the team created by Brewer ten days ago begins reassessing all the reports. Police in Flagstaff, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe and Phoenix are sending officers to see some of the children identified in the reports.
