Gold Cross Ambulance Employees Continue Strike

Ambulance-DrivingIt may be harder to get an ambulance in El Centro and Imperial County right now.  Gold Cross ambulance employees have taken to the picket lines and are set to begin their strike for a third day today.  Negotiations between Gold Cross and some 60 employees have been ongoing since January, but things finally fell apart this week after neither side could come to terms on a requested pay increase, health care benefits, better working conditions and equipment.  Employee Alex Ochoa told KYMATV about some of the equipment issues.
Director of Operations Jimmy McNeal claims the company has been the victim of sabotage, which he feels is the reason for the recent breakdowns.  In fact four ambulances were filled with contaminated radiator fluid in recent days.
