Dangerous heat is expected to build over the next several days in the Desert Southwest. The National Weather Service says an Excessive Heat Warning is in effect starting Friday morning through Sunday night.
Afternoon highs are expected to top 115 degrees in several areas Friday and Saturday with temperatures over 110 on Sunday.
Persons are urged to take extra precautions through this heat wave and limit outdoor activities such as working out, running or jogging to early morning or late evening hours. Wear light colored loose clothing, drink plenty of water and wear a hat if available.
