Effort To Recall City Council Members Withdrawn

city-of-yumaA recall effort against two Yuma City Council members has now been withdrawn.

Members Paul Johnson and Jerry Stuart were targeted last year by a group called “Recall Them All 2012.”  The group claimed they abdicated their responsibilities to their constituents by supporting certain actions of the entire Yuma City Council.

Now the group says with an upcoming election on the horizon, they will let the voters decide.  Johnson is seeking re-election, while Stuart told the Yuma Sun he is not seeking another term.

The lawsuit cost the city over $70,000 to defend up to the time the recall effort was withdrawn.
