Department Of Transportation Reports On Traffic-Pedestrian Fatalities

It is more dangerous to be a pedestrian in Arizona than in many other states. A new report from the federal Department of Transportation finds nearly 18-percent of traffic fatalities in Arizona involved pedestrians, compared with just under 14-percent nationwide. However, the national number is increasing. Yolanda Savage-Narva is with the advocacy group America Walks.

The report says 147 pedestrians were hit and killed in Arizona in 2011, an increase of one from the year before.
