County Looks To Buy And Remodel Historic Building

Yuma-CountyYuma County wants to buy a historic building to expand its hub in downtown Yuma and relieve crowding at other county offices.

The Yuma Sun reports that County Administrator Robert Pickels says the county had not had any luck in the past finding a building because property was so limited and even considered constructing a new building.

The 50,000 square foot building is directly across from the county's administrative headquarters and has been vacant for a couple of years.

The building would need extensive remodeling.  The project's cost estimates includes $750,000 for the property itself and $4.6-million for remodeling.
