Convict Reportedly Made Escape Through Broken Fire Escape

There is new information about a convict who escaped from the Yuma Municipal Court last month and who remains at large.  28-year-old Raul Dominguez escaped from the sally port area of the courthouse on January, 22nd.  Since then, police in Yuma, California and Mexico have been on the lookout for the suspect.

Police now say he escaped by going out a broken fire escape door.  The door had reportedly been broken for six months.  An internal investigation is underway to find out exactly how Dominguez escaped.

There were two reported sightings of Dominguez in Los Algodones, Mexico and San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.  Since there are several unknowns still about how Dominguez escaped, Yuma Police Sargent Leann Worthen urges the public to remain on the lookout for the suspect.

Dominguez hid under a transport van until he apparently had a chance to leave undetected through the broken door.  If anyone has any information about this incident, they are urged to call 78-CRIME or their nearest law enforcement agency.
