An area doctor has had his medical license suspended by the Arizona Medical Board. The Yuma Sun is reporting that Doctor Alaaedin Babiker was suspended from practicing medicine on December 18th 2013. Gas Prices In Arizona Higher This Week

Gasoline prices around Arizona are higher at the pump this week. Officials with AAA Arizona said Thursday that the average statewide price for unleaded regular gasoline is $3.19 a gallon. Fire Destroys Home On New Year’s Day 
 A home was destroyed by fire just five hours into the new year. The Yuma Fire Department says the fire broke out at 2516 West 25th Street and responded after receiving a report of a fire alarm at that residence Wednesday morning. While in route a second call was received from the alarm company saying that the resident had confirmed there was a fire at the home. Arriving YFD personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. Firefighters initially entered the home but the fire had already spread into the attic and they were forced to continue their efforts from the exterior. Fire officials say the resident initially tried to put the fire out himself, but failed and evacuated safely with only one of his dogs. The other dog is believed to have died in the fire.
