Grandmother Charged With Second-Degree Murder

DPS Officer Killed In Roadside Accident


An Arizona Department of Public Safety officer has been killed on Interstate-Eight near Dateland.  DPS spokesman Bart Graves says Officer Tim Huffman was responding to a collision when he was rear-ended by a tanker truck while sitting in his patrol car.  The collision happened Monday evening in the eastbound lanes.  The lanes were closed to traffic for a time on ... Dead Body Found In Vacant Lot


The Yuma Police Department says they were notified Sunday night about a dead body, which was found on Elks Lane.  Police say the person reporting the incident was crossing through a vacant lot and observed a male subject not breathing and notified authorities.  The dead person did not have any identification, but was described as about 60-years-old, 5’9” tall, weighing ... Yuma Police Investigate Attempted Homicide

Woman Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop


The Yuma County Narcotics Task Force arrested one person following a traffic stop.  On Thursday night, the force stopped a vehicle leaving an area of known drug activity.  30-year-old Victoria Louise Fresquez of Yuma was arrested after she was found in the possession of nearly 15 grams of methamphetamine, various drug paraphernalia and a semi automatic pistol.  She was charged ... Pilot Walks Away From Crop Dusting Helicopter Crash In Somerton


The pilot of a crop dusting helicopter in Somerton survived and walked away without injuries following an early Saturday morning crash.  The helicopter crashed in the area of Main Street and Avenue “G”.  The pilot, identified as a 35-year-old man, was extricated from his helicopter and was able to walk away from the accident.  The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating ...
