Car Safety Seat Week

As part of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office ongoing traffic safety campaign, a “Child Passenger Safety Week” campaign will be conducted this week. This national effort will help ensure the safety of young children traveling roadways in our community and throughout Arizona. In 2010, on average, almost two children were killed and 325 children were injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes each day. This fatality rate could be reduced by about half if the correct child safety seats were always used. The national campaign is conducted by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
