United States Border Patrol agents from the Calexico station arrested two men Saturday attempting to smuggle approximately 96 lbs of marijuana with an estimated value of more than $77,000. Border Patrol agents detected two men walking north from the United States/Mexico International Boundary fence in a remote desert area east of Calexico. Agents responded to the area and encountered the two men hiding in the thick brush, each holding a large bundle with rope straps attached. The men, 23 and 27-years old, both Mexican nationals, were arrested and transported to the station for further processing. The bundles tested positive for marijuana.
