Border Security Protest At State Capitol

A crowd gathered at the Arizona state capitol protesting a pathway to citizenship for millions of people who are in the United States illegally and are calling for more border security.

The rally drew about 100 people on Saturday, August 7. Among them were former Maricopa County Attorney and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Thomas and former state Senate President Russell Pearce. Pearce says many Americans viewed Arizona as favorable after the state passed its controversial immigration bill. While he has no immediate plans to run for office, Pearce says he will stay engaged in the immigration debate.
