Border Patrol Stops Smuggler With Over $1 Million In Meth And Cocaine

Crystal-MethYuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a smuggler attempting to transport over $1.1 million worth of methamphetamine and cocaine through a checkpoint Friday.

A man driving a Chevrolet Silverado at the Highway 95 checkpoint was sent to secondary inspection where a Border Patrol canine alerted officers to the vehicle. 

Further inspection resulted in the discovery of 42 pounds of methamphetamine and over two-pounds of cocaine hidden in the gas tank.  The driver and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
