Border Patrol Rescues Distressed Illegal Immigrants

US-Border-PatrolU.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine Yuma Branch and El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents worked together to rescue three distressed illegal immigrants who had lost their way in the desert.

The incident occurred Sunday morning after the El Centro Sector Border Patrol was contacted concerning three men who placed a distress telephone call and stated that they were lost in a remote area of the desert and needed help.

A CBP OAM helicopter involved in the search located the three men around an hour later and directed El Centro Sector agents on the ground straight to their location.   Agents utilizing all-terrain vehicles found the men and provided first aid.

Two of the men, ages 20 and 22, appeared to be in stable condition and declined medical attention.  The third man, a 29-year-old, was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for dehydration and heat related illness.

The three men were identified as Mexican Nationals illegally present in the United States, and are currently in CBP custody awaiting processing and removal.
