Border Patrol Arrests 12 Smugglers Over The Weekend

US-Border-PatrolUnited States Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector arrested 12 drug smugglers and seized a combined 564 pounds of marijuana over the weekend.  The drugs have an estimated street value of $282,000. 

Agents working southeast of Gila Bend apprehended a group of six drug smugglers carrying 219-pounds of marijuana Friday night after an agent spotted the group using night vision equipment and guided other agents to them. 

The same day, agents arrested a group of five Mexican nationals smuggling marijuana near Sentinel carrying 236-pounds of the narcotics. 

Sunday, agents apprehended a man watching over 109-pounds of marijuana close to the Mohawk Mountains.  The man is a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States.
