Border Patrol Agents Make Marijuana Busts
 In Blythe And Maricopa County

Agents from the Blythe Border Patrol Station arrested a Jamaican national smuggling 72 lbs of marijuana on I-10 on Monday. Agents working traffic check operations near Blythe conducted a vehicle stop on a Mazda6 on I10. Following an alert from a canine unit, agents discovered $36,000 worth of marijuana in the trunk of the car and arrested the driver, a Jamaican national.
 
The man and the narcotics were turned over to the Blythe Police Department. In a separate incident, agents near Sentinel arrested five smugglers with 48 lbs of marijuana. The five Mexican nationals had illegally entered the United States by following a known smuggling route through the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge. The men, along with the estimated $24,000 worth of drugs, were turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
