Board Of Supervisors Approves New Trucks For Sheriff’s Office

Yuma-County-Sheriff-TruckThe Yuma County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of several vehicles for the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

The Yuma Sun is reporting the county is opting to purchase the six Ford F-150 trucks from an out-of-town dealer in Phoenix.

County Supervisor Russell McCloud said it bothers him that a local dealer was not used to purchase the vehicles, but is encouraged to see that the dealer has expressed desire to bid on future purchases.

Chairman Greg Ferguson added that most local dealers have not wanted to bother with bidding on vehicles for the county in the past.  The price of each truck is listed at over $27,600.
