Couple Arrested On Narcotics Charges

The Yuma County Narcotics Task Force arrested a couple Friday following a conducted surveillance of the area.  Police say 41-year-old Christine Visser and 36-year-old Brian Visser were stopped in their vehicle and police then conducted a search.  Police found methamphetamine with a street value of over $780, cocaine with a street value of $290, marijuana worth $20 and nearly $800 ... Woman Seriously Injured After Collision on Hwy 95

Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Woman In The Leg During Domestic Dispute

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in custody after he shot a woman in the leg Sunday.  KYMA is reporting the incident occurred early Sunday in a home on South Tornado Avenue.  Police arrested 30-year-old Jose Rodriguez.  Police say Rodriguez used a .40-caliber pistol following a domestic dispute.  Three children were in the home but were not ... Board Of Supervisors To Proclaim Next Week Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Yuma Local Wins Ultimate Fighter Middle Weight Title

Yuma’s Kelvin Gastleum beat Uriah Hall for the middle weight title in the reality show Ultimate Fighter Saturday night.  It was a split decision and now Gastleum will get a huge contract with the UFC and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  The 21-year-old attended and graduated from Kofa High School before going to North Idaho Community College to continue participating in athletics. The Arizona Western College baseball Matadors split games Saturday against South Mountain College.  South Mountain came out the winner in the first game 8-0.  The Matadors won the nightcap however edging South Mountain 9-8.
