Arrest Made After Police Discover Insurance Fraud

Isabel-Christina-McBeeThe Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says that two persons were arrested after they filed a fraudulent report of a vehicle theft last month.

Police say 49-year-old Christina McBee reported that her 2012 Lincoln Navigator worth $72,000 was missing.  Police say she was unable to produce a spare key.  Police later found out the vehicle was equipped with a security chip, meaning the vehicle could be started without a key.

The vehicle was found to have crossed the United States-Mexico border on March 22nd, a day before McBee reported the vehicle missing.  She admitted to police she filed a false report to law enforcement and to her insurance company.

She was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Schemes and Theft.  McBee’s husband, Patrick McBee, also was charged after he declined to speak with investigators.
