Jose-JimenezCharges have been filed in a murder case under investigation for the last couple of weeks.  The Yuma Police Department continues to investigate the murder of 29-year-old Christal Figueroa of Wellton.

In a strange twist, the pre-meditated murder charges were dropped against 24-year-old Brandi Michalski.  She now faces one count of hindering prosecution and one felony count of tampering with physical evidence.

On Sunday morning, police arrested Jose Jimenez, also known as Rascal and charged him with First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping.  He also faces charges on outstanding warrants.

Two others who were questioned earlier – Daniel Torrez and Jose Torrez – were arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree.

Police say they are also looking for 20-year-old Jorge “Pelon” Rios.  He is considered armed and dangerous and police should be contacted if anyone knows about his whereabouts.  He is described as a Hispanic Male, standing five-foot-seven-inches-tall, weighing about 128 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
