April Is Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Distracted-Driving-eatingThis is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and experts say the problem goes far beyond texting or talking while behind the wheel.

Joel Feldman with the Casey Feldman Foundation notes that three-quarters of all distracted driving injuries and deaths are unrelated to cell phones.

Feldman became an advocate for the issue after his 21-year-old daughter was struck and killed by a distracted driver in 2009.

Nationwide, he says, distracted driving is responsible for nearly 400,000 injuries and more than 3,000 deaths per year.
